TAD MARSHALL SERVES AS PASTOR AT LAKESIDE.

He grew up in a godly Christian home, and his family had the wonderful opportunity to travel with his father, evangelist Charlie Marshall. When he was 14, he surrendered to the ministry while attending a week of camp at the Bill Rice Ranch.

In 1985, Tad graduated from Bible college at Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, TN. While there, he served on the staff with Dr. Lee Roberson at Highland Park Baptist Church. One of the great joys of his life was working with teenagers as a youth pastor. He served for fourteen years at Breezy Hill Baptist Church in Graniteville, SC, and four years at Trinity Baptist in Asheville, NC. Then God called him to pastor Community Baptist Church in Siler City, NC. In May 2008, Tad was honored to come to Lakeside Baptist Church. In April 2012, after almost four years at Lakeside, his first wife, Pat, went to heaven. For a period of time, he was a “single pastor and dad.” Then, God allowed him to meet his wife, Amy. They married in November 2014 and enjoy serving together with their son, Tyler.

Along with spending time with my family and serving the Lord, Tad enjoys playing golf and watching the Tar Heels! He is grateful for our church family and feels blessed to minister at Lakeside!

Tim and Christy Goodwin and their three children came to Lakeside in May 2016.

The Goodwins met while students at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida. Tim then served eighteen years as Youth/Assistant Pastor and then for three years as Pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville, Ohio.

Their three children, Josh, Caila, and Peyton keep their lives very interesting and exciting to say the least! Josh is an Information Technology major at Bob Jones University. Christy homeschools Caila and Peyton so she is very busy being wife, mother, teacher and yes, sometimes warden!

Along with his family and serving the Lord, Tim enjoys sports and has been known to chase deer and turkeys in the fall and spring. 

Tim's main areas of ministry are young couples and Sunday School. Tim and Christy look forward to getting to know you soon in person!

John George first came to Lakeside as a teen in 1967 and received Christ as Savior.

He was called to preach and served the Lord in Virginia and New Jersey. It was in 1990 that he moved back to South Carolina and joined the staff at Lakeside.

His wife, Ruth, and he have two sons and seven grandchildren for whom they are very thankful.

John is now serving on a part time basis, working as Outreach Pastor and teacher of the Joy Class. He enjoys camping, outdoor walking, and building projects. The Joy Class is highly recommended by him for senior adults as a most loving and friendly group of people.

Wes Hollar serves as the Music Pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church.

Wes grew up in North Augusta, SC and has attended Lakeside his entire life. He serves in various capacities in the church Music and Media ministries, but his passion is leading the Lakeside Choir.

He and his wife Amanda have two children, a daughter, Brighton and a son, Truett. Some of Bro. Wes’s favorite things include Chick-fil-A, southern gospel music, and date nights with Amanda.

Zach came to Lakeside in January of 2018 as a youth intern before becoming the Youth and Children’s Pastor in March of the same year.

In July, he married the love of his life, Toni, and has been serving the Lord at Lakeside ever since.  In November of 2019, the Lord blessed them with their precious daughter, Maelyn Grace, and in September of 2021, God blessed Zach and Toni with their son James Gideon. For Zach and Toni, it is the thrill of their lives to be able to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, and to primarily serve the teens and children of Lakeside.

Prior to coming to Lakeside, Zach and Toni both graduated from West Coast Baptist College in 2017 and 2016, respectively.  While in college, they both took advantage of many opportunities to minister to teens and children.  Zach spent four summers as a camp counselor at The Wilds of North Carolina, and he also had the opportunity to become a volunteer youth pastor during his senior year of Bible College. Toni was a youth worker at her local church in Lancaster, CA.

When not at the church or at home, Zach enjoys playing basketball, golf, and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels! Toni enjoys going to Starbucks, hiking, and shopping.
